This is a 35mm film image scanned to digital. Considering that most of the photographs taken today of Miami Beach are highly edited digital photographs,this image harkens to the days of old where the image was analog in nature. The classic American diner was created our of train cars set up all over the United States serving a wide variety of off the grill foods like hamburgers, fries and even larger fare. These were the original coffee shops, late night hangout and many are open 24 hours a day with affordable offerings. I have fond memories of my first meal in a roadside diner.
Mercer Clark has been influenced by the Miami Art Deco Scene and now lives in Palm Springs, California. Many of his works reflect the Art Deco Color palette and are very bright and cheerful. Renown for his scenic landscapes and florals, Gary has a unique take on the Miami Beach Art Deco scene and also produces images in sepia tone black and white in his unique Everglades series. His images have been featured in Popular Photography Magazine, Outdoor Photographer, Digital Photo Pro, Art Pulse, Art Districts, Miami Art Guide and Boomer Times Magazines and has covered Art Basel Switzerland and Art Basel Miami for the Art scene since 2006.
